Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe

Each Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe listed here has the same primary ingredients: spinach and strawberries.

The difference is in the dressings.

Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe

10 oz. fresh spinach
1 pt. fresh strawberries

1/3 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. sesame seed
1 Tbsp. poppy seed
1 1/2 tsp. minced onion
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. Paprika
1/2 c. oil
1/4 c. vinegar

Place all the dressing ingredients in a blender. Blend for 30 seconds. Pour over the spinach and berries. Toss and serve immediately.

Strawberry Spinach Salad Recipe

1 (6-ounce) bag spinach leaves
1 pint strawberries, hulled and halved
1 orange, peeled and cut into Supremes*
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper
1/4 cup toasted pine nuts

Place the spinach in large salad bowl and add the strawberries and orange sections.

Gradually whisk the balsamic vinegar with the oil and then add the basil and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss thoroughly. Scatter pine nuts over top.

Do you know those citrus segments you sometimes get that don't have all the pithy rind on it? They actually have a name: Supremes.

Here's how to make orange Supremes:

Cut the top and bottom off of the rind. Stand the orange on one end and cut down the sides to peel the orange. Remove as much of the white membrane as you can.

Use a sharp knife to cut the orange segments at a slight angle between the membranes and lift the segment out carefully.
