Steak Marinade Recipes - One of My Best Recipes For Good Steak Marinade

Steak Marinade Recipes

There are hundreds of Steak Marinade Recipes but you really should try this unusual recipe for good steak marinade to add a little sweet and tangy zip to your next backyard barbeque.

You can use any cut of steak but this recipe, like most recipes for good steak marinade, really shines with the tougher beef steak cuts. Beef sirloin steak is perfect for this marinade.

It's a good rib eye steak marinade also but just for the flavor. A rib eye steak doesn't need tenderizing like a sirloin steak does.

The mixture of cocktail sauce, soy sauce and honey is just the right balance for grilling steaks. You need to let a sirloin steep for about 6 hours minimum so the flavors infuse the steak well.

I like to prick the steaks lightly all over before marinating to ensure the flavorings find their way into the beef. There is a gadget available to prick steaks that does a superior job. I don't own one yet but I plan on getting one.

After the steaks have been grilled and while they are resting you might like to try what I do and saute some mushrooms mixed with the remaining marinade. This makes a great savory sauce to spoon over the finished beef or on the side.

Either way, get ready for the ultimate taste treat! This is one of my best recipes for good steak marinade. I hope you like it too!

Sweet and Tangy Marinade - One of My Best Steak Marinade Recipes

Ingredients

1 pound beef sirloin steaks
2/3 cup cocktail sauce
1/3 cup honey
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 large cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Kosher salt to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 pound white button mushrooms, stemmed and sliced

Directions

Whisk together the cocktail sauce, honey, 1 tablespoon olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, pepper and salt.

Pierce the steaks all over with a fork or a meat tenderizer. Put the beef in a large resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade. Massage the bag to make sure the sauce gets into all the holes, then refrigerate it for 6 hours, turning the bag frequently.

Light a charcoal barbeque or heat a gas grill for medium high heat. Clean and lightly oil the grate.

Shake any excess marinade off the sirloin steaks and dry them well. Grill them, 4 to 6 minutes per side, or until they are cooked to your preference. Let the meat rest about 10 to 15 minutes before serving.

While the beef is resting, heat the remaining tablespoon of oil in a small skillet and saute the sliced mushrooms. Add the leftover marinade and bring to a boil.

Turn down the heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until lightly thickened. Serve poured over the cooked steaks or on the side.

Good To Know - You don't need to have an outdoor grill to enjoy the flavor of marinated beef steak or good steak marinade recipes. An indoor electric grill, such as a George Foreman, or your oven broiler will give you tender, juicy steaks.

Food For Thought - Using a more tender steak, such as a rib eye (my favorite!) lets you not have to prick the steak all over.

This type of steak doesn't need quite as long in the marinade either. Remember, the tougher the meat, the longer it should remain in the marinade. Especially if you have recipes for good steak marinade

Tender lamb chops need about an hour, beef tenderloin steaks about the same.
