Sloppy Joe
This easy sloppy Joe recipe might not be the exact one my Mom used when I was just a lad, but it sure tastes like it. At least as far as my memory can take me back.
If you've ever had a sloppy Joe then you must know where it gets its name. My Mom always made me use a fork.
Sloppy Joe Recipe
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 c. tomato catsup
1 Tbsp. Sugar
2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 Tbsp. Vinegar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Paprika
Hamburger buns
Brown the ground beef slowly in a skillet, stirring so it is crumbly with no big lumps of beef. Pour off the pan drippings. Add the remaining ingredients and about 1/2 cup water. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes.
Serve on split buns.
Keeps well in the refrigerator or can be frozen.
Makes 6 to 8 sloppy Joe servings.
