Porterhouse Steak Recipe With Montreal Steak Seasoning
This is a Grilled Porterhouse Steak Recipe with Montreal Steak Seasoning. Grilled porterhouse steaks just
don't get any better than that! Included is a Montreal steak seasoning recipe you can make.
My younger brother used this recipe when he was first learning how to cook porterhouse steaks.
The porterhouse steak has something for everybody - half filet tenderloin, half New York strip loin. Seasoned and allowed to
marinate for a few minutes, the beef picks up the essences of the Montreal Steak Seasoning and chars beautifully on each side.
No need to save this for "special company" - Make it special Saturday night dinner for 2 with hot crusty bread, fresh salad and
an easy dessert. And don't forget the wine!
Perfect Porterhouse Steak Recipe With Montreal Steak Seasoning
Ingredients
2 porterhouse steaks, about 20 ounces each
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 tablespoons meat tenderizer
4 teaspoons Canadian Steak Seasoning / Montreal Steak Seasoning
Directions
Lay the steaks on a plate and coat them with the meat tenderizer. Lightly coat each steak with the olive oil, then rub in 2
tablespoons of the Canadian / Montreal seasoning into each steak on both sides. Wrap each steak separately in plastic wrap and
refrigerate them for 30 minutes.
Light a charcoal barbeque or heat a gas grill for medium high heat.
Lightly oil the grate. While the grill is heating, pull the meat out of the refrigerator so that is has about 20 minutes to
come up to room temperature. Keep them wrapped in plastic until they are ready for the grill.
Cook the porterhouse to your preferred doneness, probably about 15 minutes total for medium. Serve hot.
Food For Thought - If there are just 2 of you but you want to cook only one steak, ask the butcher to cut a 32 ounce
steak for you. If you're really hungry, get a 64 ounce steak. These large steaks will obviously take longer to cook, but it
will give you more time to enjoy the wine!
Good To Know - There are tons of steak seasonings in the markets - everything from Cajun to Santa Maria. If you want
to make your own Canadian / Montreal steak seasoning, follow this recipe:
