Kosher salt and ground black pepper

Bourbon Espresso Homemade Steak Sauce Recipe

1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions For Homemade Steak Sauce

Whisk together the bourbon, maple syrup, soy sauce, espresso coffee powder and the lemon juice. Simmer the mixture in a small sauce pan until it is reduced by half. Keep it warm. Just before serving, you will whisk the butter into the warm sauce.

Directions For Grilled Steak Tenderloin

Season the steaks with the kosher salt and black pepper.

Light a charcoal barbeque or heat a gas grill for medium heat. Lightly oil the grate. Grill the seasoned steaks until they reach your desired doneness, about 15 minutes for medium.

When the steaks are ready, finish the sauce with the butter. Pour a little of the sauce over each steak and serve the rest on the side.

Good To Know - If you have espresso coffee and don't want to purchase instant coffee, just brew a cup of espresso and let it cool. Use 1/4 cup of it for the sauce.

If you don't have espresso coffee, brew an extra strong cup of regular coffee, then reduce it over a low flame. You can also add 2 servings of regular instant coffee to a cup of regular coffee and reduce it until it is extra strong.

Food For Thought - This sauce goes with any steak - try it with grilled rib-eye or New York strip steaks. Drizzle any leftovers on hamburgers or steak sandwiches for a real taste treat!
