Ground Beef Recipe - Quick, Easy and Delicious
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
Kosher salt and ground black pepper
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup milk
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 package (12 ounces) refrigerated biscuit dough
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Lightly melt the cream cheese in the microwave to make if soft. Combine the cream cheese with the cream of chicken soup, then whisk in the ketchup and the milk.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet. Season the ground beef with the kosher salt and ground black pepper and sauté it in the skillet. Add the chopped garlic and chopped onion, and sauté the mixture until the onion is soft. Drain the fat from the pan and set it aside.
Combine the browned ground beef with the cheese and soup mixture, stirring well to combine all the ingredients. Pour the mixture into a medium baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
Take the casserole out of the oven and top it with the refrigerated biscuits. Put it back in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown. Serve hot.
Serves 4 to 6
Food For Thought - You can really amp up the richness of this casserole by adding 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the ground beef mixture. When the casserole has baked for 15 minutes, top it with the refrigerator biscuits and cook for another 15 minutes. The biscuits will bake right into the cheese and the creamy ground beef - be sure to serve this with a large spoon!
