Easy Chili Recipe
If you want a really Easy Chili Recipe that's just a little more than opening a can off the grocers shelf then try the chili mixes.
"If you can brown ground beef you can have good chili really easy!"
Over the years I've tried many of the chili mixes in the little envelopes but lately the only one I buy is Carroll Shelby's.
It's actually a chili kit. It contains everything you need in little packets. Even the salt! You can make it as hot or as mild as you like with the cayenne pepper packet.
I always add the masa packet since I like my chili thick. The masa also adds depth of flavor to me.
Easy Chili Recipe
2 pounds ground beef
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
2 cups water
1 package Carroll Shelby's Chili Kit
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet. Drain the fat.
Add the tomato sauce and the water. Add the Large Spice Packet and salt to taste. For spicier chili, add the cayenne pepper (Small Red Packet).
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve piping hot.
Makes 1 Texas sized serving or 5 servings for ordinary folks.
