Crock Pot Meatloaf Recipe
This crock pot meatloaf recipe has no considerations that make it especially crock pot friendly. It could be baked in the oven.
Other than the onion and the sage the sauce is the primary flavoring.
Crock Pot Meatloaf Recipe
1 1/2 lb. ground chuck*
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 Tbsp. grated onion
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. ground sage
Sauce:
1/4 cup catsup
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. dry mustard
Combine the eggs with the milk, breadcrumbs, onion, salt, sage and ground chuck. Mix well and shape into a 9 x 5 x 6-inch round.
Carefully place the meatloaf in the crock-pot. Cook on low for 5 or 6 hours.
Combine the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Pour over the crock pot meat loaf mixture. Cover and cook on high for 15 minutes longer.
Slice and serve while hot or use cold slices for sandwiches. Freezes well.
*Ground chuck has
the ideal fat to lean ratio for this crock pot meatloaf recipe. If you use another meat
or combinations of meats make sure the fat content is between 15 to 20 percent.
