That's the beauty of this great little appliance.

Crock-pot is actually the name of Rival Company’s slow cooker. All other manufacturers call theirs slow cookers.

Rival acquired the rights to it when they bought out Naxon Utilities Corporation in 1970. At that time it was called the “Beanery”.

Mine is so old it must be one of the first from the 1970’s. I call it my pokey pot.

But it doesn’t matter what you call it. This handy dandy appliance could’ve been designed especially for beef cooking.

Beef stews, pot roasts, beef soups or even meat loaf are great cooked in the slow cooker.

If you don’t have one then maybe you should invest in one. They’re not that expensive.
