To me the Best Grilled Steaks include a big ole juicy grilled ribeye steak. I don't even use a ribeye steak recipe. Grilling ribeye steaks for me is just salt, pepper and a few minutes on the grill.
That doesn't qualify as a ribeye steak recipe but it is perfect grilled steak!
Occasionally, however, I do like to use a grilled steak marinade. A ribeye marinade will take these naturally tender steaks to
cut-it-with-a-fork stature. The ribeye steak marinade below will certainly do that.
This ribeye marinade is a savory combination of Worcestershire, rosemary and garlic. Everything is blended to a smooth puree,
and then massaged into the steak and marinated at least 3 hours.
It does make quite a difference for grilled ribeye steak. The longer the meat marinates the more it affects the texture.
4 Delmonico (rib eye) steaks, about 10 ounces each
Kosher salt and ground black pepper
Ribeye Steak Marinade For The Best Grilled Steaks
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup dry red wine
3 tablespoons steak sauce, such as A-1
5 cloves garlic, chopped
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1/2 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 tablespoon steak seasoning, such as Lawry's
Directions For Ribeye Marinade
Combine the Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, soy sauce, red wine, steak sauce, garlic, onion, rosemary and steak seasoning in a blender. Process the mixture until it is a smooth puree.
Put the meat in a resealable plastic bag and pour in the pureed grilled steak marinade. Squish the air out of the bag and seal it. Massage the meat by rubbing the sides of the bag between your hands over each steak.
Refrigerate the steaks at least 3 hours, and preferably overnight.
Directions For Grilling Ribeye Steaks
Light a charcoal barbeque or heat a gas grill for medium high heat. Lightly oil the grate.
Remove the steaks from the marinade about 20 minutes before the grill is ready. Shake off any excess marinade and season the steaks with kosher salt and black pepper.
Grill each steak, turning once, until they reach your desired donenes, about 10 minutes per side for medium. Close the cover to the grill while the steaks are cooking to give them some smoky essence.
Remove the cooked steaks to a warmed platter and let them sit a few minutes before serving.
Good To Know - This preparation will tenderize any steak, even the not-so-tender ones. Try this marinade with flank, chuck and round steak. It works wonders with brisket if allowed to marinate overnight, and even works really well with skinless boneless chicken breasts.
Food For Thought - If you don't have all the time it takes to marinate these steaks as directed above, try this: using a
fork, lightly prick the steaks on both sides. Make sure you thoroughly massage the marinade into the meat - the easiest way is
to put the meat and marinade into a resealable plastic bag and rub it with both hands.
Turn the bag frequently to make sure the steaks are marinating evenly.
