I usually buy beef brisket when my grocery has a brisket sale. I stock up and freeze the brisket so I'm always ready for barbeque brisket or smoking brisket. Work Day Barbeque BrisketWith this recipe you get the convenience of the slow cooker and the great taste of barbeque brisket. Barbeque Brisket Rub Ingredients1 tablespoon dried thyme leaves 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 3 pounds beef brisket, trimmed of fat Barbeque Brisket Directions Combine the thyme, paprika, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, and cumin in a small bowl and set aside. Rub the brisket all over with liquid smoke and then rub with the spice mixture. You will have a much better tasting barbequed brisket if you'll take the time to allow the brisket 24 hours in the refrigerator after you apply the rub. Pour the Worcestershire and commercial barbeque sauce into a slow cooker. Place the beef brisket on top. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours, until fork tender. The total amount of time to prepare this barbeque brisket is large. But almost all of it is inactive time. Put it in the slow cooker first thing in the morning and come home to delicious barbeque beef brisket. |
