Ambrosia Salad Recipe

Ambrosia Salad Recipe

I never got my grandmothers Ambrosia Salad Recipe and I'm sorry for that. She always served it at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Of all the things she served that salad sticks in my mind most. I think I'm going to check with all my other relatives that love cooking and see if maybe one of them has it.

Ambrosia Salad Recipe

3 cup Mandarin oranges
3 cans pineapple chunks
4 to 6 bananas, sliced
2 cup sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1 1/2 cup marshmallows
1 1/2 cup coconut
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
8 oz. container sour cream
Small container Cool Whip

Mix the sour cream and Cool Whip together. Drain all the fruit. Combine the fruit and cream mixture and then add the marshmallows, coconut and walnuts.

Chill before serving.

Ambrosia Salad Recipe

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 large size frozen whipped topping
1 small box banana instant pudding
2 cup milk
1 (30 oz.) can fruit cocktail
1 medium can of crushed pineapple (20 oz.)
1 medium jar cherries (I cut cherries in half)
1/4 cup raisins
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup coconut
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans)

Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature.

Drain all of the fruit. Mix the instant pudding according to the directions on the box. Cream the cream cheese and sour cream together and then add to the pudding.

Fold all the drained fruits together along with the whipped topping and the remaining ingredients. Freeze the mixture in large covered container.

Take out of the freezer at least 1/2 to 1 hour before serving. You can make this ambrosia salad recipe at least one month ahead of time.
